A strategic planning and networking meeting was convened at GUDGK. The meeting brought together Prof. Dr. Ashfaq Ahmad, Vice Chancellor, GU and Dr. Muhammad Abdul Saboor, CEO-LPP, in presence of Dr. Matlob Ahmad, Director
P&D-GU and Sarmad Jah Zafar, Manager Research & Program Development (LPP).
The primary objective of the meeting was to explore avenues for collaborative efforts in institutional development and advancing the localization agenda in the region. Discussions revolved around fostering partnerships that could leverage the strengths of both institutions to address regional challenges and promote sustainable development.
Key areas of potential collaboration but not limited to the following included:
1- Capacity Building: Initiatives to enhance the skills and competencies of students, faculty and community members.
2- Research and Development: Joint projects focusing on regional development issues and evidence-based solutions.
3- Community Engagement: Programs aimed at strengthening ties with local communities through impactful interventions and outreach activities.
4- Policy Advocacy: Collaborative efforts to advocate for policies that align with the localization agenda and address regional priorities.
The meeting underscored the shared commitment of both institutions to drive positive change in Dera Ghazi Khan and its surrounding areas through strategic alliances and innovative solutions. Both leaders expressed optimism about the future of this partnership and agreed to develop a roadmap for actionable initiatives in the near future.
