Dr. Faisal Hussain got his Master's (M.Sc.) as well as a Ph.D. degree from the Department of Botany, Federal Urdu University of Arts, Science & Technology, Gulshan-e-Iqbal Campus, Karachi. He has served as an Assistant Professor at the University of Karachi, Karachi, and the Federal Urdu University of Arts, Sciences & Technology, Gulshan-e-Iqbal Campus, Karachi. In 2018, Dr. Faisal completed his Postdoctorate from Matsumae International Foundation, Japan to work at the Institute of Nature & Environmental Technology, Kanazawa University, Kakuma Campus, Kanazawa, Japan. Recently, Dr. Faisal has been serving as an Associate Professor in the Department of Botany, at Ghazi University, Dera Ghazi Khan, Pakistan. Dr. Faisal has more than 13 years of academic professional and research experience in various well-known universities/ organizations.
He published more than 70 research papers/ manuscripts related to the Plant Sciences in the journals of national and international publishers. He is also the author of four books and contributed two book chapters in the field of plant sciences. He has presented his research output at more than fifteen national and international conferences, seminars, and workshops. Dr. Faisal was honored with more than ten awards for his academic, literary, and research performance. He had wide experience in organizing national and international conferences, seminars, symposiums, and workshops as a session coordinator, etc. at the Federal Urdu University of Arts, Science & Technology. Dr. Faisal completed a mini project on mycotoxicity in drinking water in the Department of Biotechnology in 2017 at the Federal Urdu University of Arts, Science & Technology.
His areas of interest in research are Plant Pathology, fungal Soil-borne phytopathogens of vegetable crops, Biocontrol (Biofertilizer, Biopesticides & phytoremediation), and integrated management strategies, Microbial ecology, Agrobiodiversity, Mycodiversity, airborne fungal diseases, etc.
